Mercy Day Liturgy

Mercy Day Liturgy

By: Elisabeth Halloran, Senior Communications Intern

On September 24, 2025, Notre Dame celebrated its annual Mercy Day Liturgy. Each year, this special Mass is celebrated to honor the Sisters of Mercy, who helped to establish Notre Dame and our Mercy Core Values. ND Chaplain, Fr. Roy, assisted by Deacon Rich Hobson, helped us understand how to use the Mercy Core Values in our lives. Madrigal provided beautiful music under the direction of Mr. Gigi Gibilisco.

By celebrating this Mass, Notre Dame remembers Principal Fr. Henry M. Tracy, Sister Mary Eleanor, 12 Sisters of Mercy, and four teachers who helped to open our doors in 1957. We are forever grateful for them and will continue to remember them through our Mercy Core Values every day. Notre Dame truly lives by the Mercy Core Values: Service, Compassion, Justice, Integrity, and Respect.

During this special liturgy, Principal Martinez commissioned the executive board members of the Student Government and the Notre Dame Chapter of the National Honor Society into their roles. Good Luck to our leaders!
