Seamus Harding Wins Mercer County Diving Championship
ND Junior Seamus Harding made it 3 for 3 to win at the Mercer County Diving Championship meet on Wednesday, January 30 at Montgomery High School. Seamus put up 342.15 points to finish 64.5 in front of runner-up Rowland Lawver of Hun in a six-diver field.
He’ll now move on to the NJSIAA championship, set for the same Montgomery pool on February 26 at 5 p.m. Seamus is 2 for 2 at the 11- dive State Meet, where he beat out South Hunterdon’s Lance Christopher last year and Griffin Brooks of Governor Livingston two years ago.
Though it’s a path he’s traveled before, Seamus said this one still had a new feeling. “Today, getting on the board, trying to do all my dives with my new coach in the stands, it was a great experience,” Harding said. “My nerves really kicked in, but the adrenaline was good and I felt great.”
