Web Design Students Create Website

Ryan Geehan ‘20 and Andrew Wells ‘20 are in Ms. McGee’s Web Design and Development Class. In this course, students are expected to create three complete websites. Students are introduced to the basic skills for designing professional, educational, and personal websites. They learn HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, graphical logo design, marketing principles, project management, user interface, and the basics of Web Development programming languages.
In September, Ryan brought a website development idea to Ms. McGee. Ryan wanted to recreate the site for the Rooney Cup. Rooney Cup is an annual golf trip/tournament comprised of a core of 16-20 players. Most of the players are friends going back 30 years to Don Bosco High School in Ramsey, NJ and/or Loyola College in Baltimore, MD. It helped that the owner of the original site was Ryan’s dad!
When the project was completed, it was a real hit! Mr. Gehan stated that the site “Looks great! Last year, we paid a professional to create a site for us and it was not as good as this. I had been looking for a way to update the site and not get the same results as last time, this was the perfect opportunity. The students worked hard and were truly dedicated to making it a great site. Thank you Ryan and Andrew for this fantastic website!"
