Final Preparation for Reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation
Seven Notre Dame students are in the midst of final preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation to be celebrated at the School Liturgy on Tuesday, October 20 at Notre Dame High School. All of the students have been baptized Catholic and received their First Eucharist, but have not completed their Sacrament of Confirmation.
They had been working closely with Mrs. Eileen Hart, Religion Department faculty member, last school year. Due to the building closing last March because of COVID-19, the students were unable to receive their Confirmation at the Easter Liturgy, which was canceled. They had to wait patiently until now to receive this last Sacrament of Initiation. The seven students are Anthony Balbuena ‘23, Brianna Barbarino ‘22, Will Celli ‘22, Alyssa Jennings ‘23, Mason Kloc ‘23, Aidan McGovern ‘23, and Britt Reid ‘23.
An eighth student, Giacomo Rosati ‘23, who had not been fully initiated into the Catholic Church but who had been meeting with the seven Confirmands regularly last year, received his First Eucharist and Confirmation in a private ceremony over the summer.
In preparation for the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation, the students attended a half-day retreat on Friday, October 16. We ask for your prayers for all of these students and their sponsors as they prepare for their Confirmation next week.
