The Notre Dame SHADES Club hosted the 6th Annual Hoops for Hope tournament on Wednesday, November 15.
Established 6 years ago by the SHADES Club, Hoops for Hope is a charity basketball event where students, faculty and staff organize teams to compete against one another at this popular fundraiser. Each team can select a level of play: just for fun, intermediate, or competitive. This event raises money for charity each year and the stands are always full of spectators.
The SHADES Club’s hard work resulted in the participation of 36 teams and more than 300 people from the Notre Dame community. Congratulations to the Stand on Business team who won the competitive bracket. We would like to congratulate the Team One Eye Elite team who won the intermediate bracket. Special shoutout to the ND Staff team for defeating the ND Faculty team.
All proceeds from this year’s Hoops for Hope will be donated to Catholic Relief Services. Over $2,000 was raised! Donations were also collected for Sprouts University School of the Arts.
The SHADES Club would like to thank everyone for participating in the event, scorekeeping, referring, cheering, coaching and playing. We look forward to next year’s event!
