Tatem Levins '18 Drafted to MLB

On Monday, July 18, Tatem Levins ‘18 was drafted in the 8th round of the Major League Baseball [MLB] draft by the Seattle Mariners.
Tatem was a four-year program baseball player for Notre Dame. He earned All-County honors as a junior. As a senior, he was the team MVP and earned All-County, All-Area and All-State honors. Tatem was selected to the Carpenter Cup Team both his junior and senior years. Also, as a senior, he was selected as one of the top 100 players in NJ and played in the NJ Senior State All-Star Game at Diamond Nation in Flemington, NJ.

In 2019, as a freshman at LaSalle University, Tatem was named Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American, Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Year, Philadelphia Big 5 Rookie of the Year and All-Big 5 Catcher.

The 2020 season was shortened due to COVID-19 but in 2021, Tatem racked up a few more honors. He was named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Second Team and All-Atlantic 10 Conference Second-Team.  At the end of the 2021 season, LaSalle dropped the baseball program. In 2022, Tatem transferred to the University of Pittsburgh where he led the team in HRs [16] and RBIs [53].

Tatem was named ACC Player of the Week, for the week of March 1-6. He homered in all three games and posted nine RBI and a 1.231 slugging percentage at the All-American Classic. Tatem opened the tournament in Fayetteville, N.C. with a 2-4 performance at the plate with a solo homer and double against Army. He had a two-run homer in the 6-5 comeback win over Ohio State. In the 11-5 victory over Campbell, he saved his best performance last with a grand slam and two other hits, six RBI and two runs.
