Notre Dame High School to Offer Merit Scholarships

Notre Dame High School recently announced that the School will offer three academic merit scholarships to incoming freshmen, beginning with the September 2019 enrolled class. Notre Dame President, Mary Liz Fitzpatrick ‘72 Ivins, commented, “Our continued commitment to keep a Notre Dame education affordable will now include the addition of three merit based scholarships offered to academically strong incoming freshmen. The awarding of these scholarships will  recognize their hard work and commitment to becoming a member of the Notre Dame community.”
Notre Dame will offer the following Academic Merit Scholarships to students who demonstrate continued strong academic potential. Selection will be based on students’ scores in the High School Placement Test (HSPT) or the Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT) as well as an essay submitted by qualified candidates. These scholarships will be annually renewable for students who maintain a 3.5 grade point average. All applicants are considered for these merit scholarships. Qualified candidates will be invited to apply.
 
The Fitzpatrick Family Academic Merit Scholarship is a full tuition scholarship offered to one student in each Notre Dame Class beginning with the freshman class enrolled in 2019 (the Class of 2023.)
 
The Mary Ann Liptak Academic Merit Scholarships offers half tuition to two students in each Notre Dame Class, beginning with the freshman class enrolled in 2019 (the Class of 2023.)
 
In order to be considered for either scholarship, aplicants must submit student scores on the HSPT or SSAT in addition to completing a written essay.
 
Student Interviews with Administrators and Faculty Members will be conducted with finalists chosen from among those who submit essays. Award winners will be chosen from those interviewed.

What does it mean for a young adult in 2019 to “dwell in possibility?”
Scores and essays may be emailed to Mrs. Laura Sarubbi at sarubbi@ndnj.org.  Scholarship recipients will be notified in writing by March 10.
