In Latin, the word “experior” means to do, try, or experience. Through the Experior Program at Notre Dame, students are given the opportunity to continue learning outside the traditional classroom, in the form of Senior Internships and Independent Research Projects.
On February 1, 2019, the Internship Breakfast Symposium took place to mark the completion the 2018 Fall Semester Senior Interns. During this fall semester, 12 seniors were placed in internships both inside and outside of Notre Dame in order to enrich their educational experience. At the symposium, each intern presented posters describing the events that took place during their internship, noting any challenges they had to overcome along with the lessons and benefits they received by participating in this internship.
After their presentations, the interns engaged in a question and answer session lead by Mrs. Bonnie Milecki, the Experior Program Coordinator. Mrs. Milecki asked the interns about their experience, such as what they enjoyed the most, how the internship prepared them for life outside of Notre Dame, and how likely they would be to continue this career path in the future. To conclude the morning, additional questions were asked by other interns, mentors, administrators, and family members in attendance.
If current juniors are interested in participating in the Experior Program for Fall 2019 or Spring 2020, please contact Mrs. Milecki at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Notre Dame would like to congratulate all the seniors who took part in the Internship Program and the mentors who guided them along the way.
