Guys and Dolls is a musical romantic comedy that tells the story of the unlikely pairing between a reckless gambler, named Nathan Detroit, and straight-laced missionary named Sarah Brown. Set in the bustling city of Manhattan, Guys and Dolls follows the efforts of Nathan, who is trying to find a new life within his illegal, but notorious, crap game. In the midst of trying to set up the biggest Craps game in town, Nathan discovers that he does not have enough money to secure this place, and he turns to another gambler, Sky Masterson, in hopes of borrowing some dough. In an effort to obtain the money he so desperately needs, Nathan bets Sky that he cannot take the “doll” of his choosing on a date, which happens to be Sarah Brown. In his efforts to win the bet, does Sky also win over Sarah’s heart?

Featuring some of Frank Loesser’s most memorable tunes, Guys and Dolls will captivate you with the heartwarming story of the great lengths to which a guy will go when he truly falls in love with a “doll.”

The Performing Arts Department has been working tirelessly on perfecting this musical, making sure it is truly one to remember.

Nick Potocki ‘19, a member of the Pit Orchestra for this production, reflects on his experience with the shows at Notre Dame: “I’ve been in the pit orchestra all four years at ND and I have been involved in dozens of productions over the years. I can truly say Guys and Dolls is not the musical to miss! It is classic old-school theater that’s worth the watch!”

Presented in our newly-renovated Auditorium, the production of Guys and Dolls would not be possible without Mr. Louis Gibilisco (Artistic and Music Director), Mrs. Debby Gibilisco (Choreographer and Costume Designer), Mr. David Chebra ‘98 (Technical Director and Scene Designer), Mr. Gigi Gibilisco ‘04 (Orchestra Preparation), Ms. Cheri Snook (Lighting Designer), Mrs. Morgan Wright ‘06 Walter and Ms. Brittany Brydges (Scenic Painters), Mrs. Bonnie Clawson ‘96 Milecki (Stage Supervisor), and Mr. Edward Patton (Make-Up/House Manager).

Notre Dame wishes the cast, crew, and orchestra the best of luck in the production. Break a leg!
