Marking the Beginning of the Lenten Season

Notre Dame faculty, staff and students came together to celebrate Ash Wednesday Liturgy this morning. Today marks the beginning of the Lenten Season. During his Homily, our Chaplain, Father Jason, urged us to spend time in prayer and self-reflection. Lent is not only about sacrifices, but taking steps to become a better person.

Ashes were distributed following mass. The ashes on our forehead remind us to turn away from sin and turn towards God. Ashes are an outward expression of our need to begin again.
