Why Give?

    • Class of 2016 New Alumni
Today, the growth and vision of Notre Dame High School is stronger than ever. ND has matured into one of the top ranked college-prep high schools in the region and is recognized nationally for its service-learning program. Every day, our students explore, overcome, achieve, surprise, and amaze with their talents and drive to excel.

Our ongoing work to prepare today’s students into tomorrow’s leaders could not be achieved without support from alumni, parents, parents of alumni, grandparents, faculty and staff, and our ND friends. We ask you, therefore, to join us in supporting Notre Dame. Your gift will demonstrate your personal support and will help pave the way for future development at Notre Dame. Your donation will directly impact the school’s 1,300 students.

List of 3 frequently asked questions.

  • Q. What is the Advancement Office and why is it named that way?

Advancement is the meaningful involvement of people in the mission and vision of the school. Through its efforts, the Advancement Office is responsible for advancing the mission of the school, which is “educating young women and men to realize their full potential through a faith-filled environment, a challenging college-preparatory program, extensive co-curricular activities and a commitment to citizenship and service in the community.” The Advancement Staff works closely with our many constituents who generously donate their time, talent, and financial resources supporting our academic, spiritual and co-curricular programs.
  • Q. What programs are the responsibilities of the Advancement Office?

The Advancement Office is responsible for all communications with stakeholders such as alumni, parents and friends that promote the school and enhance the general public’s understanding of Notre Dame High School; for all marketing, student recruiting and admissions efforts that build a solid enrollment of quality students; and for those programs that enhance the financial resources of the school. These efforts include revenue-producing special events (The Notre Dame Auction, Golf Outing, Alumni Hall of Fame Dinner, Polar Plunge) and non-revenue producing events (Alumni Memorial Mass, Parent Gatherings, Alumni networking events and reunions, Grandparent Days, Meet & Greets, and the Athletic Hall of Fame) that are designed to build community. Other Advancement revenue efforts include Capital Campaigns, Planned Giving, Major Gift solicitation and the Annual Fund Appeal.
  • Q. Doesn't that mean fundraising?

No. Fundraising efforts typically accomplish monetary goals by “selling" something. Those who purchase a car wash, a pizza, a chocolate bar, a raffle ticket, a 50-50, or a Christmas ornament from a student or parent vendor, do so with the expectation of receiving something of material value in return for the money they expend.  This "purchase" is made knowing that the school will receive a percentage of the profits from the sale. Advancement invites potential donors to make an investment in the school because that donor knows that his/her investment will advance the mission of Notre Dame High School.
