Coding for Robots

Learn how to make robots move, follow lines, make sound, stop, and react to the environment around them. Perfect for campers with no coding experience or those with some experience that are eager to learn more. Film Camp

Film Camp will be an abridged version of both film classes offered at Notre Dame, Film Production and Film Studies. From 9 AM - 12 PM each day, students will learn the ins and outs of Film Production from distribution to development. By the end of the week, they will have the skills required to create their own short film, with a project each day to show their progress. After a lunch break, 1 PM - 3 PM will be reserved for the Film
Studies portion of the day, where students will view a film that falls within the camp’s theme and discuss important aspects of film criticism and theory.
High School Placement Test Prep Course

Step into high school entrance assessment with the tools needed to show off academic strength. Campers will build test-taking skills in reading comprehension, vocabulary, and mathematics. In addition, students will develop a collection of strong writing techniques useful for both test-taking and application writing.
Notre Dame Irish Cares Service Camp

At the camp, students grade 5-9 will work with Notre Dame service leaders to help plan micro-projects each day that serve different communities in the area. The students will work on
several different service projects that touch the lives of unique communities in need. Each student will also have the opportunity to fulfill their Parish specific service requirement. Students who attend will earn 15 hours of service while experiencing what a service learning program can be. The Notre Dame service camp is great for 7th and 8th grade students working toward their confirmation service hours.

One of the keys to the pathway to student success is confident communication! Through the exploration of improvisation, dramatic interpretation, and persuasion, campers will build confidence and poise in both verbal and nonverbal expression. Explore the exciting world of coding! Campers will create images and animations using Carnegie Mellon University’s Python graphics package. This camp is designed for students with no prior coding experience as well as those that have coded before and are interested in learning more. With the guidance of a veteran computer science teacher, students will collaborate, create, and most importantly, have fun while learning a 21st century skill.

TV Production Camp

Create and shoot your own material, scripts, shows and more at our TV Production Summer Camp! Notre Dame runs its own television studio and production facility on campus. Come to learn to mix sound, create innovative transitions and editing.
You will learn the basics of the three-camera shoot, getting the opportunity to work on both sides of the camera. Anchor your own stories, operate the cameras, be the director, or become an editor who will assemble the entire video to be viewed on the last day of camp. Learn each component from teleprompting to cameras, from directing to editing and sound to the final of producing a technically advanced video announcement.

Notre Dame High School summer classes are fully accredited academic offerings that provide students with the opportunity to earn credits over the summer that will be applied to their Notre Dame Transcript. All academic, attendance and behavioral requirements and expectations as outlined in the Notre Dame Student Handbook are applicable to the summer session with the exception of the uniform requirement. Course Description: The Credit Enhancement program is designed with the goal of supporting academic success for students enrolled in College Preparatory academic courses, who earned a grade of 65 to 75 or students enrolled in Honors academic courses, who earned a 65-72. By completing a supplemental summer course in the same subject, students will be able to better master the academic material while also having the opportunity to improve the grade on the official transcript. Grades reflected on the official transcript will be calculated using the original course grade as 2/3 and the enhancement grade as 1/3. Students are not required to attend all scheduled hours; time off for vacation or other commitments can be accommodated. In our Summer Academic Enhancement program students will be registered for an Educere course, receive teacher supported study, and have their in-person exam scheduled. Time on task will be closely monitored.
Please Note: Students completing credit enhancement for honors level courses will receive the 3-point grade factor on the 2/3 course grade, not the 1/3 enhancement grade. The enhanced grade will be identified as College Prep on the transcript.

Math Foundations (7:45 to 9:45 a.m.): This portion of the class is designed to further develop the computational skills and conceptual understanding needed to undertake and be successful in college preparatory high school math courses with confidence. The math curriculum that begins with Algebra 1 will develop the skills needed for academic success. Students will demonstrate success in applying knowledge of rational numbers, number relationships, computation and place value. Students will develop the skills needed for completing algebraic patterns, functions and measurements.
Pre-STEM (9:45 to 11:45 a.m.): This portion of the class is designed to further develop the computational skills and conceptual understanding needed to undertake and be successful in college preparatory science curriculum with confidence. Students will gain a stronger understanding of mathematical concepts as they apply to the Notre Dame Science curriculum. Students will develop the skills needed for completing algebraic manipulation, solving for probability, data mapping, scientific graphing and trend analysis. The program will include hands-on learning group projects.

Course Description: Rising sophomores, juniors and seniors will be able to attend a session that will give them a head start in any AP Social Studies courses that they are enrolled in or interested in taking. Throughout the 1 week session, teacher guided instruction will provide students with the opportunities to hone and practice skills that will be relevant to courses and their exams in the following subject areas: AP US History, AP US Government and Politics, AP Psychology, AP European History, and AP Economics. The workshops are designed to help students understand the general course requirements and pacing, the content and skills necessary for success in their Social Studies courses, and the design of the College Board examination. Teachers facilitating these sessions will be using AP level resources to reinforce important skills, themes, and reading and writing skills relevant to each course. Students who wish to transition into the AP Classroom for the first time and feel more comfortable and confident in these rigorous courses should enroll in this session today!

Course Description: (Course 9310) 2.5 credits (60 hours total, divided into 40 hours of PE and 20 hours of classroom First Aid curriculum) The American Red Cross First Aid course is required for 20 classroom hours. The course prepares students to recognize and appropriately respond to emergencies in the home and the community. Students will be trained in adult, pediatric first aid, CPE, and AED and may attain American Red Cross certification. Physical Education activities include: weight training, running, and team activities. This course offers valuable skills as students become safety conscious and more capable of handling emergency situations. There are boys’ lift and girls’ lift classes scheduled 3 times a week.
Please Note: Beginning with the Class of 2023, students who complete First Aid/Personal Fitness during the summer, will be required to complete their Junior Seminar during 12 Activity Period sessions.

The program will provide the students a jump start to the academic expectations of the high school experience along with social and behavioral acclimation game plans for a successful high school transition.
Academically there is an emphasis on high school preparedness, STEM, Language, Algebra, Religion, English, History, as well as written and oral expression. Proven study skills and test taking strategies geared to each specific content area will be provided. For transition to high school students will be equipped with an understanding of transitional social skills, mindfulness, behavioral expectations, and taught appropriate high school classroom conduct. The program will be open to all interested incoming Notre Dame Freshman students. Homework and assessments will be given. This course will be taught by six members of the Notre Dame faculty.

Course Description: (Course 9150) 2.5 credits (60 hours total, divided into 40 hours of PE and 20 hours of classroom Health curriculum) Physical Education activities include: weight training, running, and team activities. Health provides information on health-related problems facing society with emphasis on those areas of immediate importance to the student. Students will be required to complete 60 hours on an individually tailored schedule. There are boys’ lift and girls’ lift classes scheduled 3 times a week.

Course Description: Freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors will have the opportunity to work on their summer English reading assignments in this program. Teacher guided instruction will provide students help with their summer reading for English along with the accompanying summer packet assignments. Course Description: This course is open to all sophomores, juniors and seniors who wish to explore topics in Trigonometry. The course will study right triangle trigonometry, Laws of Sine and Cosine, trigonometric functions, analytic trigonometry and real world applications. This course in conjunction with Advanced Algebra offers an alternative route to Calculus. For students who are going to take Precalculus this upcoming school year, this course offers a preview of the Trigonometry topics that will be studied in Precalculus. (NCAA, Applied Science Concentration)

Theater introduction for middle school students will include the basic elements of theater. As we travel through our journey each lesson will include interactive activities and games which will aid in understanding what theater is and what an actor should know and do as they learn what theater is all about. This camp will include instruction such as creating an ensemble, the ability to use movement and space, environment (the where) of making acting choices, the who (character development), explore the idea of objective and tactics and the importance of both, practice staying focused and in character on stage, utilizing voice, stage directions.
Ed Patton has been associated with all facets of theater for 34 years which include producing, directing, performing, building and painting sets, a prop master, house management and makeup coordination. co-directed the Notre Dame Fall Production for 17 years and was the makeup coordinator and house manager of the Notre Dame Spring Musical for 15 years. His hope for this camp is to help the participants grow as an actor and have fun along the way!

With imagination, materials and guidance each camper’s art can come alive at the Notre Dame Summer art camp!
Campers will explore a number of mediums using a variety of materials (all provided). Throughout the course, students will create their own unique pieces of 3D art such as ceramic pieces, basketry, jewelry making, tie-dye techniques and more!
Fun and free expression will be the focal point of camp. Artists of all abilities are welcome, from the beginner to the advanced art student. Week 2 will include more work with ceramics.
Performing Arts Summer Session (Grades 7-12)

Mr. Louis Gibilisco, Notre Dame’s performing arts and music director and his team invite students from all levels of training to join us this summer for theater camp. Notre Dame High School has an active and well-regarded Performing Arts department which is widely known throughout the area. Each student will receive an hour of voice training, dance and acting daily. This camp will also be working on the scenes, music and dances from next year’s musical.

Attention brass, woodwind, string, percussion and keyboard players! The camp will be concentrating on individual technique, tone, pitch, and blending within the section. Band music for the Florida trip will be introduced to get a jump on the school year.

Meet fellow incoming students, no golf experience required! Up to 6 students will be designated a climate-controlled bay where they will be provided with the equipment necessary to play a game of their choosing. Aim at targets to score points or go for the distance! The fee includes the bus ride, TopGolf and lunch. Meet at Notre Dame at 9:15 AM and return by 2:30 PM.

Earn service hours on this Class of 2027 Service Trip –. Meet at Notre Dame High School and travel locally to perform community service at a location to be determined. Spend the day with members of the class of 2026, serving your community, embracing Pope Francis’s Laudato Si and meeting members of your Notre Dame Class. Students come dressed to work in their class of 2027 shirt with a bagged lunch.
